Q: I'm taking Celebrex for arthritis, so what to take for a headache?
There are all these warnings not to take tylenol or iburprofen or aleve or aspirin. So what can I take?!
A: Celebrex is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). you should NOT take another NSAID (like aspirin, naproxen [Aleve], or ibuprofen [Motrin]) because that would put you at increased risk for side effects such as stomach ulcers/bleeding.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) is in a different class of painkillers & is generally safe to take with Celebrex.
Q: Whats the difference between Celebrex and Advil?

A: There's a big difference in the molecules and the resulting side effects and risks of toxicity.
However, there was an article in the New England Journal of Medicine that suggests there is NO DIFFERENCE in how effective either one is in managing inflammation. Celebrex and Vioxx are simply expensive and advertised on TV (not Vioxx anymore). That's the only reason you're led to believe that one might be more effective than the other. The hard data says they work the same.

Dr. on vacation. after 5 days of using celebrex developed pain in groin area and down front of leg.
A: if you have insurance call the hot line, and ask to go to the emergency room...

Q: Why did my doctor give me Celebrex for my headaches?
I have really bad headaches that last for hours, sometimes even 5 hours. Usually when i take Excedrin it helps but lately it hasnt and i went to my doctor and he gave me Celebrex and told me to take 1 a day. Celebrex is an Anti-Inflammatory Drug. A: celebrex is an anti inflammatory. that is the same as aleve, motrin, etc. some headaches respond to these medications. i have taken many different meds for my migraines and some of them are not related to migraines. some dr/researchers find that drugs have more than one condition they can treat. at least try it you never know.
Q: Can you drink while taking celebrex?
I'm taking 200mg of celebrex daily and it says not to take with alcohol. But does that mean I can't drink at all or just for a period of time after I take the pill?
A: that means you cannot take alcohol even if you are under prescription of your medicine. Drink alcohol after your medicine is finished in maybe a week's time^_^

I have arthritis in my hips and it causes me alot of pain. My doctor just gave me samples of Celebrex 200 mg to try. If you have used it, what was your experience with it.
A: I took it for rheumatoid arthritis. It helped some, but not enough to satisfy the Dr. But, don't take on a empty stomach - I learned this the hard way! Made me sick as all get out.

I take1 x200 mg pill a day in morning for foot inflammation.
A: Side effects from Celecoxib may get worse if you drink alcohol-containing drinks. If you have persistent stomach upset, vomit blood or what looks like coffee grounds, or have black, tarry stools, contact your health care provider immediately. Avoid alcohol containing drinks while taking Celecoxib, even with short term use of Celecoxib.

A: if it was just one pill or one dose, you'll be fine. I mean, that's for joint pain, so maybe your joints will feel better. But yeah, it's no big deal, don't make a habit of it.

I told my Dr. that my body aches are so bad at night I can't sleep and he gave me celebrex. This does not seem right to me. I tried all the others. Tylenol, aspirin, alive.. and he gave me this. Is int there something that is not steroidal?
A: You mean non-steroidal anti-inflammatory? Yes, watch that kind of med it can cause bleeding. He's not treating you very well if pain is not allowing you to sleep. Some type of codeine codone
